This medium roast was part of my original design for the Velvet Hammer. It is a very rich full bodied coffee with hints of cocoa and hazelnuts. The finish is very smooth. The border in between Dominican Republic and Haiti is closed right now but in the past coffee from Haiti would be smuggled into Dominican Republic and sold as Dominican coffee. In 1720 a French Naval officer brought a seedling to the island of Martinique. Coffee quickly spread to other French holdings including Haiti and what is now the Dominican Republic. This coffee was a nice surprise to get in as it has been about 15 years since I last had a taste.
